1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using mazado, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use mazado. Users between 13–17 require parental consent per UAE Child Digital Safety Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025).

By registering, you confirm that you meet the age requirements and have provided accurate information.

3. User Responsibilities

When using mazado, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration

• Maintain the security of your account credentials

• Only list items you legally own or have permission to sell

• Not post misleading, fraudulent, or illegal content

• Comply with all applicable UAE laws and regulations

• Not use the platform for commercial resale or bulk selling without authorization

4. Prohibited Items & Content

The following items cannot be listed on mazado:

Weapons & Dangerous Items:

• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, and explosives

• Knives and bladed weapons (except kitchen/utility knives)

• Surveillance and espionage equipment

Illegal Substances:

• Drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia

• Prescription medications and pharmaceuticals

• Tobacco, vaping devices, e-cigarettes, and shisha (UAE-specific)

• Alcohol

Counterfeit & Stolen Goods:

• Counterfeit, replica, or fake branded goods

• Stolen property or goods without proof of ownership

Hazardous Materials:

• Hazardous materials, chemicals, and flammable substances

• Recalled products

Living Things:

• Animals, wildlife, and animal parts (UAE-specific)

• Human remains and body parts

Adult Content:

• Adult/sexual content and materials

Food & Perishables:

• Food, produce, meat, and perishable goods (UAE-specific)

Government & Restricted Items:

• Government-issued IDs, documents, and uniforms

• Gambling devices and materials

UAE Law Violations:

• Items that violate UAE federal law or TDRA content regulations

• Content contrary to public morality, public order, or Islamic values

Listings that violate these terms will be removed immediately. Repeat violations may result in account suspension or termination.

5. Content Moderation & Reporting

mazado is committed to maintaining a safe and trustworthy marketplace:

• Users can report inappropriate listings or behavior using the Report button on listing detail screens

• All reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 24–48 hours

• mazado reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms or poses a safety risk

• Users who repeatedly violate community guidelines may be warned, suspended, or permanently banned

• You must be the legal owner of any item you list, or have explicit permission from the owner to sell it

We take content moderation seriously to protect our community. False or malicious reports may result in account penalties.

6. Transactions

mazado is a marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers. We do NOT:

• Process payments or handle money transfers

• Guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items

• Mediate disputes between buyers and sellers

• Take responsibility for transactions that occur outside the app

All transactions are conducted directly between users. You are solely responsible for inspecting items, verifying authenticity, and completing transactions safely.

7. Safety Guidelines

For your safety, we recommend:

• Meeting in public places during daylight hours

• Inspecting items before completing transactions

• Never sharing banking or payment card details via messages

• Reporting suspicious behavior via the Report button

mazado is not liable for injuries, theft, or fraud that occur during in-person meetups.

8. CO₂ Calculations

CO₂ savings displayed on mazado are estimates based on product category and condition. These values are for informational and motivational purposes only and should not be considered certified carbon credits or offsets.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you post (listing images, descriptions). By posting, you grant mazado a non-exclusive license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the platform.

The mazado name, logo, and app design are the property of mazado and may not be used without permission.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms & Conditions

• Post prohibited content

• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior

• Receive multiple user reports

You may delete your account at any time via your profile avatar (top-right) → Settings → Delete Account.

11. Limitation of Liability

mazado provides the platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Loss or damage resulting from transactions between users

• Injuries or theft during in-person meetups

• Incorrect or fraudulent listings

• Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed AED 100.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved in UAE courts.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
